DO YOU HAVE AN ITALIAN GRANDMOTHER WHO LIVES FAR AWAY? DO YOU VIDEO CALL HER SOMETIMES?
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO PUT HER IN THE SPOTLIGHT!
Co.As.It is working on an exhibition to celebrate our grandmothers – nonne – as part of a Multicultural Museums Victoria (MMV) project. Through portraits and stories, the display aims to explore the relationship between grandmothers and grandchildren and the diverse, dynamic ways of being a nonna.
Nonne 2.0 are grandmothers who embrace a new way of communication in order to see their grandchildren! Let's acknowledge these nonne and the long-distance relationship made possible thanks to the new technologies. You can join the celebration by sending a screenshot showing your grandmother's portrait during a video call, which may become part of an installation.
To participate, please click here. You will be asked to provide a few personal details, to answer two simple questions and to upload a screenshot of your nonna taken during a video call. Once you have the screenshot ready, it only takes a few minutes to complete the online submission!
Parents/guardians are required to make the submission on behalf of grandchildren under 18 years of age.
Submissions must be made by 15 December 2017.
You are welcome to submit more than one file if you have more than one nonna 2.0! And please share this request as widely as possible within the Italian and Italian-Australian community.
